Salim Habib University welcomed Dr. Sabine Vermillard, Attachée for Scientific & Higher Education Cooperation, Ambassade de France au Pakistan, on campus for a visit today.

Dr. Vermillard hopes to develop academic linkages between France and Pakistan through collaboration between the higher education insitutions of both countries. She visited SHU in order to explore opportunities for French universities to initiate bilateral programs with SHU, and for joint participation in EU programs.

She encourages Pakistani students to apply for graduate and post-graduate degrees in France, and for Pakistani university professors to apply for research grants in France. She is also working to build an international strategy for exchanges for Pakistani students, and intends to bridge the gap between Pakistani and French academia.

Dr. Vermillard was given a tour of SHU's extensive campus and facilities, and was introduced to our highly talented faculty and staff. She then gave a very informative talk regarding the many opportunities available for Pakistanis to pursue education and research in France.

We hope this visit goes a long way towards building academic cooperation with French universities.
