World Immunization Week is celebrated in the last week of April annually to promote the use of vaccines for increased lifespans and better quality of life worldwide.

The goal of observing this week is to work on providing more communities access to vaccines that can save them from preventable diseases and prolong their lives.

Immunization has saved millions of lives every year since its conception in the 18th century, and continues to do so. It is one of our most effective weapons in the never-ending fight against disease, and has proven to be crucial in slowing down the disastrous onslaught of COVID-19.
