The Department of Biomedical Engineering at Salim Habib University is proud to announce that our students Adam Rafiq Jeraj, Mudasir Rafiq, and Mahnoor Maqsood have won Second Place at the IEEE Region 10 (Asia-Pacific) Robotics Competition which took place from the 17th to the 18th of December, 2022, at Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand.

They were awarded for their project 'Hand-e-ssist', an automated therapeutic arm designed with the aim of helping stroke patients recover from a stroke. The project, a 3D printed exoskeleton of the hand that can help paralysed patients in performing repeated activities without the need of a physiotherapist, has been supervised by Department of Biomedical Engineering Faculty Members Engr. Hassan Ali and Engr. Tooba Khan.

We congratulate them and wish them even more success in the future!
