Bilingual Declamation Contest ’18

The intra-university Bilingual Declamation Contest ’18 was held at BHU on 12 December, 2018, under the banner of Literary Society. An event that celebrated recently passed the UN Human Rights Day so that our youths should pay attention to who they are and what are some of their rights.

Six teams consisting of two students with one speaking in English and the other in Urdu participated. The best speaker, English, award was won by Omama Amir, while Erum Hameed grabbed the award of best Urdu speaker. The team trophy was won by Team Johar comprised of Amjad Ali Shah and Erum Hameed.

Mr. Sarwar Javed, senior journalist & writer with long time affiliation with Dawn Group, honored BHU with his presence as the chief guest. The declamation contest was judged by Ms. Noor us Saba Tauqeer, Mr. Salman Sarwat, Mr. Jehanzeb Khan and Dr. Zulfiqar Naqvi. The honorable guests appreciated all the participants and admired the quality of speeches. Ms. Noor, experienced debater gave a few tips to students. While judges were tallying their scores, the students presented a play regarding their campus lives.
