The 2nd Sindh Men’s Classic Powerlifting & Bench Press Championship 2026, organized in collaboration with the Centre for Sports & Fitness, Salim Habib University, and the Sindh Powerlifting Association (SPLA), was held on July 7–8, 2026, at Auditorium A, Salim Habib University.

The championship drew more than 150 powerlifters from Karachi, Hyderabad, Khairpur, Larkana, Mirpur Khas, Sukkur, and several other districts across Sindh, delivering an outstanding display of strength, discipline, and sportsmanship.

The competition featured various categories, including Junior Classic, Open Classic, Masters Classic, Open Bench Press, and Masters Bench Press.

The closing ceremony of the event was graced by the presence of Prof. Dr. Irfan Haider, Vice Chancellor, SHU, Prof. Dr. Jamshed Bhatt, Director, and Mr. Zubair Khan, Program Coordinator, Center for Sports & Fitness, SHU.

Representing the Sindh Powerlifting Association were Mr. Faisal Butt, President, Mr. Khizer Gul Agha, Vice President, and Mr. Umer Qasim, General Secretary. The event’s official partner, Combaxx Sports, was represented by Mr. Taimour Saeed and Mr. Talha Saeed.

In a special highlight of the event, renowned international powerlifter Athar Kamran Butt was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Sindh Powerlifting Association, in recognition of his extraordinary contributions to the growth and development of powerlifting in Pakistan.
