The Faculty of Pharmacy, Salim Habib University (SHU), in collaboration with the Department of Psychology, organized a Mental Health Awareness event on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, under the theme “Lived Experiences Heard: Real Voices, Real Change.”

The event featured an insightful panel discussion that brought together distinguished professionals, namely Prof. Dr. Moin Ahmed Ansari, Professor of Psychiatry and Director, Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences (LUMHS), and President-Elect, Pakistan Psychiatric Society, Dr. Aatir Hanif Rajput, Consultant Psychiatrist and Psychotherapist & Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, LUMHS, Jamshoro & Vice President, Pakistan Association of Cognitive Therapists, Ms. Nahal Amin, Strategic HR Business Partner and Group Consultant, Proactive UK, and Dr. Sadaf Hafeez Chauhan, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Psychology, SHU, who shared their expertise and perspectives on mental health awareness and well-being. The discussion was moderated by Dr. Nida Umar, Lecturer-cum-Medical Officer, Faculty of Pharmacy, SHU, which further added depth to the topic.

The event also featured insightful talks on mental health by Prof. Dr. Moin Ahmed Ansari and Dr. Aatir Hanif Rajput, who shared their professional expertise and highlighted the importance of mental health awareness, early support, and breaking the stigma surrounding mental health challenges.

In addition, counselling sessions and engaging mental health awareness activities were held, encouraging participants to prioritize emotional well-being and seek support when needed.
