Traffic Safety Awareness and Community Engagement Initiative

As part of its commitment to community engagement, civic responsibility, and experiential learning, Salim Habib University, in collaboration with Traffic Police Karachi, organized a Traffic Safety Awareness and Community Engagement Initiative on 21 May 2026.

The initiative integrated three complementary activities aimed at promoting traffic safety, encouraging responsible road behavior, and strengthening students’ understanding of civic responsibility. The program commenced with an interactive Traffic Safety Awareness Session conducted by Inspector Muhammad Sohail, Road Safety Trainer. The session provided students with practical insights into traffic regulations, safe driving practices, responsible road use, and the broader importance of developing a culture of traffic safety.

The awareness component was followed by an on-campus Learner’s Driving License Drive, facilitated with the support of Traffic Police Karachi. The activity provided students, faculty, and staff with convenient access to the learner’s license process while reinforcing the importance of legal compliance and responsible driving.

The initiative concluded with an On-Road Traffic Safety Awareness Campaign at Korangi Crossing, where students took their learning beyond the university campus and engaged directly with commuters and members of the public. Through this community-facing activity, students promoted safe road practices, adherence to traffic regulations, and responsible citizenship.

By connecting classroom-based awareness with practical licensing support and direct community engagement, the initiative provided participants with a more comprehensive understanding of traffic safety and civic responsibility. The activity also offered students an opportunity to translate awareness into action, reinforcing Salim Habib University’s commitment to experiential learning, community engagement, and the development of socially responsible graduates.
