Profile:

Dr. Affhan Shoaib, Assistant Professor, and an HEC Approved Ph. D. supervisor, obtained Ph. D. in Biochemistry and Molecular biology from Dalian Medical University, P.R. China. He got 3rdposition in MSc. (2009) in the Department of Microbiology, University of Karachi. He also served International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS) as an Assistant Professor.

He is currently working on evaluating the role of gut microbiome in the development of neurological ailments (Gut-brain axis). His research interest is focused on the impact of bacterial infections / diet and use of antibiotics on gut microbial ecosystem and the use of probiotics for cure and treatment. His is also working to explore antimicrobial potential of natural compounds and probiotics against aero-gastric infections.
